Mauri Maya is part of AB Mauri, the international yeast and bakery ingredients division of Associated British Foods. AB Mauri was formed in 2004 but Mauri Maya has a longer history dating back to 1988 when it was established in the Aksakal District of Bandırma town as a Burns Philp Group of Australia joint venture. All shares of the company were bought by Burns Philp in 1989 and it started its commercial activities in September of that year.
After the initial years during which Mauri Maya concentrated on Istanbul and the Marmara Region, it gradually expanded its sales to other regions of Turkey and also started fresh yeast exports to nearby countries. Presently all sales are made through dealers, other than those to Metropolitan Municipality Bakeries. Mauri Maya has a presence in all regions of our country with the "Mauri Maya" and "Marmara Maya" brands.
At the end of July 2004, Australian Burns Philp Group struck a deal with the Associated British Foods (ABF) Group, one of the largest food companies of Europe, for the transfer of all its bread yeast and spice operations globally to ABF. Ownership of Mauri Maya Sanayi A.Ş. transferred in October 2004.
By producing world-class yeast since 1988, Mauri Maya maintains its position in Turkey’s bakery industry mainly on the basis of customer satisfaction. In addition to employing specialized personnel and utilizing modern, advanced production facilities, Mauri Maya has used the quality systems of Turkish Standards Institute (TSE), ISO 9000, ISO 14000 and HACCP in its operations since 1996.
We believe that the environment is the most delicate and precious asset we make use of, and that’s why we have a very productive and high technology treatment system in place at our facilities.
Mauri Maya will continue to provide all new technologies and new product alternatives, available worldwide to the Turkish bakery industry.
